Description:
The Kaʻena Point Pillbox Trail in Waialua, Hawaii is a scenic coastal hike that starts at the Kaʻena Point Trailhead (West Side) parking lot and covers about 2.5 miles one way. Most of the route follows a wide, flat Jeep trail along the rugged shoreline, making it an easy and approachable walk with nonstop ocean views. Near the end, the path passes through the Kaʻena Point Natural Area Reserve before finishing at Kaʻena Point State Park, where the coastline feels especially wild and remote. Keep an eye out for native seabirds, monk seals, and sweeping views of Oʻahu’s northwest tip as you reach the park.
